U kinda do see alot more Starburst groups in HA at the event(i faced one like ever other round) but if ur team is retarded they would ball up and u guys would get pwned. if ur team is smart and not ball up u would pwn them.

Meh, got over 500 fame this weekend, doing nothing but bspike, including a run to halls and cap. People just don't know how to mod it right.

Event is the biggest crap of all events I've seen, but after all they all sucked. Only good thing in this is double fame. 6v6 makes it so boring. You can't even make proper builds when you have only 4 characters to put in (i won't count fame farming builds, which are popular).

This weekend was full of ViM+Iway, thumpersmiters. then it came the NR/TRANQ in response to the smite... not many ppl run bspike (at least properly) but still there are some ppl running it.
Why do ppl wanna play in an environment where any build u do has the chance of gettin whooped by a grp of less experienced players but that happen to have a build to counter yours?
This does not reward player skill.... as opposed to the guildwars flag banner...
Now i see lots of ppl saying that "ohh its sooo much easier to get a pug because im low-ranked bla bla bla" well thats MAYBE , just MAYBE because of the double fame everyone is playing HA like crazy... but when the double fame is over it will be GG...
I've even seen 1 guy saying that he's rank9 and he had trouble making pug... Well if he's not an iway abuser he shouldn't have any trouble making grps, simply because a good r9 player has a huuuuge friends list... and he hardly plays pugs...
Then it comes the guild point of view. For example im in an Alliance with guilds that win the hall of heros every day, several times per day... our guilds dedicate to HA the same way other guilds dedicate to GvG... And there are many others that do the same... i think we deserve some consideration... i've even heard ppl saying that they will sell theyr accounts if HA becomes 6v6 permanently...
So, if the HA newbies like the 6v6, let them have a new 6v6 mode in nightfall so that they can amuse themselves the same way they amuse themselves in the crappy alliance battles and the team arenas... but removing a game mode that was here since the very start... its ridiculous, its like taking out a part of the game i paid for...

[/sarcasm]Are you kidding me? Making double fame permament will destroy the delicate ranking system Anet has worked so hard to preserve.[/end sarcasm]
On a more serious note, they better not make the double fame permanent, actually I seriously doubt there is the slightest chance that they will. All the time I have spent grinding fame in HA will be meaningless (not that it really means anything now).
I really enjoyed the 6v6, a much nicer change than the same old boring iway, bspike, 1 sb/infuse, 1 woh/hp, 1 rc/prot, 1 warder 1 warrior 2 utility balanced builds. Having only 6 characters forces you to think of your build more thourougly, as you cannot waste any one character for one sole purpose, such as interrupting ghost (cg ranger). I hope they keep the 6v6 template, much easier on my time and much easier to get a friends/guild group going.

Thanks for this post sp3ct3r. That's exactly what me and my guildmates are thinking. QFT. EVERY HA guild I know dislike the 6 vs 6 idea, and if the new crowd likes the 6 vs 6 mode, make a new arena for them! Dont ruin it for us, the usual players who didnt come here for the extra fame, but who play HA daily because they love it!

It was interesting to try out, but 6v6 being permanent? No thanks. Theres already less variety 8v8.
At least they are doing "reward" events for PvP, rather than that double gold chest shit..

I'd rather see Anet keep the 6v6 HA, but if needed, for favor of different gods.
Let me explain my idea more thoroughly:
8v8 HA usually gives access to the Underworld and the Fissure of Woe.
What ANet COULD do is make a second tournament, the 6v6 one, and the rewards (the favor) influence different gods, for access to other high-end areas.
That way, if Europe has favor in 8v8 HA, they can only visit UW and FoW, whilst America could be having favor in 6v6 HA, giving their continent access to other high-end realms (the ones everybody's been wishing since those statues in Zin Ku and ToA are just standing there... Lyssa's Realm, Melandru's Forest, Dwayna's Purgatory, something along those lines)
...but that probably won't happen

A clever Idea, but incrediably speculative. It would be nice to have a 6v6 format that gives people favor to a new High-end pve place; however i think a lot of people kinda hate the favor system. It is better than the system in place for The Deep though.

In definite agreeance to this post. I swear if i step on one more bleeping trap!!!! This weekend had 3 constantsthat you were guaranteed to hit on the way to ha-traps, nr, smite. Almost impossible to counter them all. Started fun, got old fast.
Hoping this wont take over eliminate ha but become an addition to gw in another format for the players that really liked it.

I think the change will be permanent, sure there's been some unorganized teams, and sure there's been some gimmicks, but honestly I haven't seen much of that past Burial Mounds, and maybe a handful as far as Scarred Earth. Sure I've seen some stuff like starburst spike, or vimway past those maps, but they were good players running the builds and not just the build winning it for them.
The way I saw it 6v6 made everything you do more important since you only have 48 skills that have to do what 64 skills did before. Of course I suppose one could see where IWAY and 3-monk, 1 ritualist backlined balance groups are more "skillful", but this weekend I've won and lost alot mroe because of the "players" invovled rather than losing or winning just because of the build my team used or didn't use.
And in my opinion I see no reason they shouldn't change it, because alot of the arguments I'm seeing for it reflect more of an "I hate change" attitude more than anything remotely convincing...actually alot of the arguments against 6v6 HA remind me alot of PvE Griffon farmers complaining about the AoE update...go figure.

What do HA veterans dislike more: influx of new players or 6v6 builds/style.
Veterans lost a few advantages this weekend:
-No hall skips.
-More noobs.
-Less of a grasp of the meta game, although more than most.
-Less predictablity during higher rounds. More monking/holding structures.
-Inability to play with established groups.
-Influx of GvG/TA talent and playing styles.
IMO the Tombs community is small, closed and shrinking. I was happy to spend a few free hours this weekend taking alliance players of varying experience levels into HA almost exclusively using GvG tactics and builds. We did fine against the various "-way" teams and competed with actual HA squads. While we never had the continuity to break into the top maps, I never felt totally outclassed playing non-tombs builds.
I don't know how things will shake out if HA becomes 6v6, but I probably won't be back very often if it goes back to 8v8. I don't mean this as some sort of threat, just slight disappointment. HA is meant to be the highest form of non-guild pvp, but the game mechanics are fundamentally flawed. 6v6 play better fits the game mechanics such as altar holding and straight up play, since it breaks down stalemating and "super pressure" strategies. Obviously those who enjoy those dynamics will dislike 6v6, but I feel it is time for a change.
FYI: I was running a pressure build suggested on one of these forums and we rolled over VIM-way, smite. We went toe to toe with a few spikes, but normally didn't have enough disipline to break enough of the spikes.

I'm pretty indifferent to the idea. I'm a gvger and TAer mostly, although after the ladder got locked I decided to do some HoH. After capping a couple times and holding with my Mo/A and seeing the builds my opinion of the whole heroes ascent thing went down a bit(I already knew about the IWAYs Vimways bloodspike etc. but I'm talking about CG Rangers and the SB Infusers). So basically when the event came around I just went in a got my tourist-bambi(take a picture folks). At this point, the builds are still rather uninventive(dual smite, NR) or jsut plain lame(Vim...) but if they do cut down to 6 ppl at least it will get rid of that aweful SB/infuser build. What a waste of a slot. So I think Anet was testing the waters for 6v6 somewhere but basically I'm just like whatever y'all...

I don't quite understand, I'm assuming you don't like the Vimway, IWAY, bloodspike builds that people usually call gimmicks, yet you don't like 6v6. You can't run IWAY or Bloodspike in 6v6 so do you hate gimmicks or do you hate 6v6?
Still seems like the only reason people don't like it, is the same reason most every update takes alot of criticism...change.
